Inspiration

This section comprises personal accounts of determined veterinary students (or those in allied health fields) seeking humane alternatives at their respective schools; not all these individuals were successful, but all have paved the way for others and we and countless non-human animals owe them a huge debt of gratitude for their courage and convictions. These accounts are intended to provide moral support and ideas for current students faced with the same struggles. The accounts are listed alphabetically by first name. Those taken from the excellent and extensive database provided by InterNICHE are linked here to make it convenient for a student to quickly access this information.

If you are a student and are feeling intimidated or demoralised by the ethical challenges you are facing, you may want to contact Our Honor, a network of professionals who advocate for people in your situation. Their Web address is https://www.ourhonor.org/.

If you are aware of any mistakes, or if you are the person involved and do not want your experience listed here – or if you want to provide an update on your situation, including ways students can contact you – please send the information to me for consideration. If you have your own story to tell, please send it to HEVM for consideration.
